Point-cloud editor and BIM modeler
Two and a half years with Mezmeriz Inc. in Ithaca, New York: browser tools to view and edit dense point clouds, a modeler that turns them into BIM geometry, and a cloud service that writes native Revit files.
What I built
A point-cloud editor in the browser. A front end to manage, view and edit dense point clouds and other 3D assets without desktop software.
An interactive BIM modeler. Tools to generate building geometry on top of the scan, so a model can be drawn where the points are.
A JSON-to-Revit converter. A cloud service that takes spatial data as JSON and produces native Autodesk Revit (.rvt) files with C# and the Revit cloud APIs.
The infrastructure. Containerised services and CI/CD pipelines on AWS, written as infrastructure as code in Terraform.
Long contracts work when the client can hand you a whole surface and stop worrying about it. This one ran from September 2021 to April 2024.
